Tuskowski: We want to teach all aspects of farming and work with local and government trainers to make Dinagat Island more independent.
EDITORS’S NOTE: This is the 4th and last installment of Dennis Tuskowski’s story of his D' Hydroponic Farm Learning Site. Here, he emphasized the importance of training in uplifting the lives of the poor. We do hope that his training programs will be in full swing soon and that his farm will one day be a premiere showplace in Dinagat Island.
“What we would like to accomplish here in the D' Hydroponic Farm Learning Site is to work on setting up different types of training programs to help the small poor farmers learn different skills to better their lives. We would like to invite local crafts people to come and teach their skills, techniques and display their items in our farm store. We want to teach all aspects of farming and work with local and government trainers to make Dinagat Island more independent. The people here are great hardworking people, they just need some guidance and proper training to help lift them out of poverty. If we can get the locals to grow different crops, raise different livestock, make and create different crafts, then they are on the way to a much better future. We would also like to open up a farm market here on the farm two days a week to sell the local harvests. In the near future we will be inviting the locals here for a meeting on all of this. Hopefully we will be able to have a lot of the different government departments here also to give their feedback and advice to them. We will tour the farm and show them what we are all about and can offer. We truly believe that with help we can make this a show place community for the rest of the Philippines to look to for ideas. So let’s stand together and make this dream a reality. I hope you have enjoyed our dreams story and we thank you for all the support you have shown us. God Bless and Stay Safe.”
