TANDAG CITY - The conduct of Farm Business School (FBS) offers a great opportunity for the farmers in Barangay Bioto to learn practical and effective ways to make farming more profitable.
The FBS for farmer level was launched last April 25, 2019 which was attended by members and officers of Bioto Farmers Association, Barangay Council, City Agriculturist Office and Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) 13 represented by Violeta T. Laguna, Training Specialist II/Regional Rice Program Focal Person and Caerian B. Muga, Technical Staff/FBS Coordinator. Laguna presented the rationale and overview of the FBS.
With FBS, the farmers will be taught on record keeping, marking survey, benchmarking and other entrepreneurial and marketing skills necessary for farm business. It enables farmers to develop their farming practices to make it more profitable and market-oriented. The FBS follows the principle of “learning by doing.”
The FBS session will commence on May 16, 2019 and will be conducted regularly every Tuesday onwards for 16 weeks at 4 hours per week session. Training kits will be provided to the 25 farmers enrolled in the FBS.
