Alvier Jade Bonite Remollo from Agusan del Norte carefully shapes his "Choco Delectaballs" as an entry for the Cacao-based Food Processing and Packaging Technology Contest.
CABADBARAN CITY, Agusan del Norte – Declared as the cluster with the highest number of points, the province of Agusan del Norte was proclaimed undefeated as it won four times as Over-all Champion during the Regional Farm Youth Camp last April 29-May 1, 2019 with the theme “BIDA 4H: Bringing Innovation and Development in Agriculture through 4H Club.”
A total of 101 participants consist of 4H Coordinators and members from Agusan del Sur, Agusan del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Province of Dinagat Islands, Butuan City, and Bislig City joined in the three-day activity.
The winners of the following contests are the following: for the 4-H Himig Handog Singing and Song Writing Competition - Perlene R. Guindang got the 1st Place, Anthony Estacion was 2nd place, and Ian C. Payog got the 3rd place; for Quiz bee – Zap Derrick M. Morgado was 1st place, Rhenalyn T. Azarcon got 2nd place, and Lestan M. Morales was 3rd place; for On-the-Spot Canvass Painting – King John Anacito Rosales was proclaimed 1st place, Jethan Niño B. Libay got 2nd place, and Melvin Ompoy was 3rd place.
For the Cacao Based Food Processing – Alvier Jade Remollo got 1st place, Zam Zustyne S. Ortua was 2nd place, and Venus Lim was proclaimed 3rd place; for the spoken poetry - Jiar G. Ruel got 1st place, Tricia Marie C. Saldo was 2nd place, and Jhaira R. Aveñon was 3rd place; for Terrarium (Glass Gardening) Cristian Cuario was 1st place, James Carl Marzan got 2nd place, and Emmanuel Y. Bautista was 3rd place; and for the Promotional Video making Contest – Leonard Arena III was claimed as 1st place, Jeni Anne Rosario was 2nd Place, and Zarah Jualo was 3rd Place.
Aside from the seven competitions, the 4Hers were also encouraged through an inspiring sharing of experience by Alfie Caton, Young Filipino Farmers Training Program in Japan batch 2018 partaker.
A tour in Ragas Farm in Cabadbaran City was also conducted to help broaden the 4Hers understanding on the role of the youth in farming and in the promotion of agricultural development in the country.
1st Place winners will be able to compete to the 67th Farm Youth (4-H) National Convention on May 28 – June 1, 2019 at Hotelinda Suites, Vigan City, Ilocos Sur.
