SOA on Organic Agriculture to Soar in SurSur

Provincial Agriculturist Marcos M. Quico graces the briefing of the School-on-the-Air program on Organic Agriculture in Tandag City on April 7, 2021.

TANDAG CITY- The Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) 13 conducted a one-day briefing on the School-on-the-Air (SOA) Program on Organic Agriculture (OA) in the province of Surigao del Sur on April 7, 2021. The said briefing was coordinated with the Office of the Provincial Agriculturists (OPAg).

Provincial Agriculturist Marcos M. Quico graced the SOA briefing. Various Municipal and City Agriculturists along with the OA Coordinators joined in the said activity. Participating municipalities and city had their commitments as to number of enrollees for the SOA program.

Moreover, agreements were made during the program such as one enrollee per household policy, deadline for the submission of Special or Office orders that will be signed by the Mayor or Municipal Agriculturist, among others.

Ginalyn V. Arbutante, Information Officer II of ATI-Caraga who also used to be the SOA OA Focal person presented the overview of the SOA program. Roles and responsibilities of the SOA OA Coordinators was also discussed during the briefing. Broadcast guide will be finalized by the Provincial Organic Agriculture Coordinator Rosemarie Ganate as one of the Resource Persons and Fritzieh Trujillo as Program Anchor.

This SOA program aims to intensify the promotion of organic agriculture production in the Province of Surigao del Sur through the use of radio.

Funded by the OA program of the ATI-RTC 13. This will be heard for four months starting May and will end in August this year. Final radio station will be identified and announced soon. SOA listeners and enrollees will be updated via Facebook Page of ATI-Caraga and other means of communication.
