Farmer Poultry School: Target for the TOT graduates, livestock focal persons

Mr. Oligario Ayensa, Jr., owner of Country Field Agri and a Learning Site Cooperator of ATI-Caraga from Tungao, Butuan City teaches participants about Feeds and Feeding as well as Feed Formulation during the TOT on free range chicken production.

LOS ANGELES, Butuan City- The Agricultural Training Institute- Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) 13 is currently holding a Training of Trainers (TOT) on Free range chicken production here at the ATI Training Hall, Los Angeles, Butuan City.

This is to strengthen the promotion of government programs on the production of healthy food at the same time enhance the knowledge and skills of Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) on different management practices on Free-range chicken production through Farmer Poultry School (FPS).

This training aims to create a pool of trainers who will be capacitated in conducting a season-long training and who are technically able to conduct FPS. In that way, more farmers will be reached and aided in the provincial roll-out of FPS in the grass roots.

This is participated by more than 30 participants from the four provinces of Region 13 comprising Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) specifically Livestock Focal Persons and Municipal Veterinarian in their respective Local Government Unit (LGU).

One of the Resource Persons during the TOT is Mr. Olegario B. Ayensa, Jr., owner of the Country Field Agri located in Brgy. Tungao, Butuan City and a Learning Site Cooperator of ATI. He discussed Feeds and Feeding as well as the Feed Formulation on the third day.

More topics on free range chicken production will be discussed by the respective Resource Person coming from the ATI and other partner agencies and individuals. There will be workshops, farm tours and other related activities within the 5-day training.

Said training started on April 22, 2019 and will culminate on the 26th with Ms. Florita G. Lozada, ATI-Caraga’s Livestock Focal Person as the Project Officer.
