Farmers to adopt Climate Change Strategies

BUTUAN CITY – A total of thirty-one (31) farmers identified by the City Agriculture Office of Butuan were trained on “Climate Resilient Agriculture: A New Paradigm in Farming” on March 18-20, 2019.

Said activity was the result of the first training module specialized in climate change adaptation developed by the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI).

It aims to teach farmers on how to apply climate change technologies in their existing farming system and to cope with the changing weather in our environment.

Other topics discussed during the three-day event were on Financial Literacy and specialized Technical Briefing on PalayCheck System and Yield Components. An educational tour to ATI-RTC 13 in Los Angeles, Butuan City and Ragas Farm in Cabadbaran City was also conducted.

Vegetable seeds were given to the participants which served as after-training support.
