The partakers were guided during their hands-on activity by the resource person Mr. Perlito Montañez, owner of Montañez Agri Ventures, and were able to formulate a balance ration (grower) for swine through electronic trial and error method wherein they used a mini feed mixer and hammer mill.

Aside from feed formulation, the group also learned more inputs on organic farming from Engr. Woodrow Escobal during their tour at JB Nature Farm in Sukailang, Surigao City. They also visited the Family Approach on Resource Management for Sustainability (FFARMS) of ATI-RTC 13 at Los Angeles, Butuan City for additional insights.

“We gained a lot from this training. It helped us lessen our expenses because of buying feeds for our livestock and poultry. Thank you ATI and I hope that there will be another activities like this which helps us a lot,” said Ms. Marilyn G. Sugian, a farmer from Panikian, Carrascal, Surigao del Sur.
