OIC-Center Director Samuel L. Calonzo warmly welcomes participants while inspiring them during the opening program of the vegetable production training on April 2, 2019.
BUTUAN CITY- Around twenty-five (25) Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) from the different municipalities of Region 13 participated in the Ten-day intensive refresher course on vegetable production starting April 2 and will end on April 11, 2019.
Participants comprised Focal Persons under the High Value Crops Development Program (HVCDP) in the respective municipality.
Said training aims to refresh, enhance and update participants’ knowledge, attitude and skills on vegetable production. This is also to develop their strategic recommendations at the same time coach them to cope with the challenges in sustainable vegetable production in their respective areas.
The AEWs as frontliners of agricultural extension service play a big role in serving the farmers and the community they belong. For that reason, they must be capacitated with updated technologies on vegetable production and build in them the confidence to lead.
The said refresher course is currently held at the Training Hall of ATI-Caraga, Los Angeles, Butuan City with Mr. Joel Laure, HVCDP Focal Person as Project Officer. OIC-Center Director Samuel L. Calonzo warmly welcomed everyone with his inspirational message.
