AGUSAN DEL SUR – The Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) 13 recently distributed ten (10) meters of chicken nets to Tier II beneficiaries in Agusan del Sur. This served as an additional after-training support that were given to them under the Tier II program.
Farmers from Brgy. Osmeῆa in La Paz, Brgy. Sabud in Loreto, Brgy. Sta. Emelia in Veruela and Brgy. Marfel in Rosario, Agusan del Sur received the said chicken nets on March 17-20, 2019, respectively.
Ms. Nena Lomuntad, Tier II Project Officer reminded the beneficiaries to always restore their backyard garden and continue raising native chickens that were given to them last year. She also encouraged everyone to prepare for the evaluation that will be conducted by the ATI-Central Office this coming April.
“I want you to continue what we have started in the Tier II program, apply all your learning about organic backyard gardening and raising native chickens as your project here in your respective municipality even without Tier II anymore.” Lomuntad added.
The Tier II program aimed to increase production and income of our farmers at the same time alleviate poverty specifically to the provinces who have high poverty incidence in the Philippines. In Region 13, Agusan del Sur was identified as one.
ATI-Caraga staff did the distribution of the chicken nets to Tier II beneficiaries of the said municipalities. On the other hand, Mr. Alan Andig, Inspector and Ms. Ginalyn Arbutante, Information Officer II inspected and documented the recipients’ project.
Planning Officer II, Ms. Lomuntad led the group with Tier II staff, Ms. Lezel Baldon.
Other Tier II recipient municipalities in Agusan del Sur will be inspected and evaluated in April, 2019.
