ATI to showcase Tier 2 Program Experiences

DILIMAN, Quezon City – Recognized as one of the Agricultural Training Institute’s (ATI’s) special program, the Tier 2 – Extension Support to the 22 Poorest Provinces in the Philippines (T2-ES22PPP) will highlight its successes, efforts, good practices, and lessons learned through a compilation of case studies to be produced by the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI).

As a first step, the T2-ES22PPP Upshots: Technical Guidance Session on Monitoring and Documentation of Successful AFE Interventions was conducted last March 10-12, 2020 at the ATI - Central Office, Diliman, Quezon City.

There were 19 individuals who participated composed of the following: Project Evaluation Officers, Development Management Officers, Planning Officer, Media Production Specialist, Information Officer, Technical Assistants, and Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant.

Identification of stories to be covered and validation and inputs from the monitoring team was done through concept mapping with Antonietta Arceo – Information Services Division Chief, as the resource person. Lectures on the principles in writing and editing stories on extension initiatives for program enhancement and accountability and designing were also discussed.

“There is a need to publicize what ATI has been doing. This will serve as a proof of the Institute’s efforts in doing what is mandated,” ATI Director Alfredo Aton said on his message during the opening program.
Finally, as an output of the three-day Phase I technical guidance session, participants were required to submit their first draft, outline, and guide questions individually. Phase II is tentatively scheduled on May 19-21, 2020.
