BAHWs equip on Animal Health Care and Management

Participants undergo actual demonstration and hands-on activity on March 14, 2019 at ATI-RTC 13.

BUTUAN CITY – Aiming to equip the Barangay Animal Health Workers (BAHWs) on the monitoring and prevention of animal disease outbreaks that may affect food safety on meat, the Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) 13 held the Training on Animal Health Care and Management on March 13-15, 2019 at PhilRice – Agusan Experiment Station, RTRomualdez, Agusan del Norte.

It includes lectures and hands-on activities on Hoof trimming, blood sample collection, restraining, castration, and drenching done in different locations specifically in Taguibo, Butuan City, Provincial Veterinary Office of Agusan del Norte, and ATI-RTC 13.

There were 25 BAHWs from the different municipalities of Agusan del Norte who participated during the activity. Attendees were also given a starter kit to be used for animal management activities such as castration and others.
