Sarah Boquil of PhilRice-Agusan discussed about the PalayCheck System
BRGY. LOS ANGELES, Butuan City - With the end goal of achieving rice self-sufficiency, the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center XIII (ATI-Caraga) conducts the first batch of the Regional Training of Trainers (RTOT) on Hybrid Rice production at the ATI-Caraga training complex, Brgy. Los Angeles, Butuan City from March 5-9, 2018. A total of 32 Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) from the Province of Dinagat Islands (PDI), Agusan del Norte and Butuan City participate in the said training.
The five-day intensive training includes lectures, workshops and hands-on activities in the field. The discussions are chunked into four modules namely: (Module 1) Overview of the Rice Industry in the Philippines, (Module 2) Overview and Basic Principles of Hybrid Rice Production, (Module 3) Palaycheck System in Hybrid Rice Commercial Production, (Module 4) Mechanized Hybrid Rice Cultivation.
