ATI-Caraga staff headed by Center Director Samuel L. Calonzo join in the kick-off activity of the national women's month on March 2, 2020.
BUTUAN CITY- The Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) 13 joined as one among national agencies in Region 13 in the celebration of the National Women’s Month on March 2, 2020 in Butuan City.
Headed by the Commission on Human Rights (CHR), said activity kicks-off with an advocacy walk and a Zumba dance which was participated by the Department of Agriculture (DA) and its line agencies. There also the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Bureau of Treasury (BTr), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Commission on Audit (COA), Philippine Information Agency (PIA) and other national agencies in the region.
This is along with the theme “We Make Change Work for Women” which highlights the empowerment of women as active contributors to and claimholders of development.
As provided by the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW), the 2020 celebration aims to inform and engage women as stakeholders of government programs and services that is to promote citizen-centric governance and make “change” a conscious effort to know, understand, and provide what all citizens need.
This is also to create and facilitate platforms to discuss good practices, gaps, challenges, and commitments in pursuing gender and development (GAD) to strengthen implementation of the Magna Carta of Women. It also inspires and empower women and girls to be agents of change in order to contribute in the promotion of gender equality as well as the empowerment of all women.
Pursuant to Presidential Proclamation Nos. 224, 227 and Republic Act 6949 “An act to declare March 8 of every year as special working holiday to be known as National Women’s Day/Month”.
