Center Directors, Chiefs convene for ATI Mindanao Forum

Center Directors and staff of Regions 9, 10,11,12 and 13 of ATI Mindanao.

LOS ANGELES, Butuan City -There will be fifty (50) participants comprising Center Directors (CDs), Assistant Center Directors (ACDs), Section Chiefs, and Unit Heads of the Agricultural Training Institute in Mindanao convene for the forum on March 4-6, 2020 here in ATI-Regional Training Center 13. This will be the first forum of the year after its revival which will be hosted by the said center.

It was a tradition in the past that Regional Training Centers (RTCs) of ATI will hold periodic zonal fora within their geographical zone (Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao). In fact, the Mindanao zone was the most active, productive, and consistent zonal fora where it was not limited to directors’ meetings but also consisted of capability building activities, sportsfests, games, and contests involving even rank-and-file ATI staff. It was an opportunity to share knowledge and best practices at the same time foster unity and camaraderie among the ATI staff within the zone.

Unfortunately, when ATI was regionalized in 2004, these zonal fora became infrequent until it was no longer held in the recent years. Then during the ATIMA meeting held this January 2020, the Center Directors of the Mindanao agreed to revive the ATI Mindanao forum.

Highlight of the activity will be the sharing of extension innovations and best practices per region. There will also be breakout sessions, video showing, mini sportsfest and a brief tour at ATI-RTC 13’s FFARMS.

This forum will be led by the ever active Center Director Samuel L. Calonzo of ATI-Caraga.
