LAS NIEVES. Agusan del Norte – In its efforts to empower the youth in engaging agriculture, the Local Government Unit of Las Nieves initially reinvigorated the 4H Club held at Municipal lobby. Las Nieves, Agusan del Norte on February 26, 2020.

The activity envisions that the rural youth are organized and taught to create agricultural projects. through this, the enthusiasm of youth towards agriculture related activities will be restored.

The 4-H Club is an organization of rural out-of-school youth (OSY) involved in education programs and income-generating projects for the four–fold development of the H-ead, H-eart , H-ands and H-ealth. The basic purpose of the 4-H program is to focus on the personal growth of the youth. The organization provides a number of opportunities in areas such as communications, leadership, career development, livestock, home improvement, and computer technology as an avenue for family development.

Ms. Mary Jane A. Gonzaga, the point person of Rural-based Organization (RBO) explained about 4-H Club in the Philippines and its opportunities for development. Moreover, she also presented the trainings and other extension intervention related to young farmer’s programs that can be availed by youth or the 4-H club members.

A total of 25 youth from Las Nieves, Agusan del Norte attended the re -orientation.

The said activity was initiated by the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) Las Nieves in partnership with the Provincial Agriculture Office (PAO) and Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) 13.
