RTWG of SOA-SRA to conduct briefing in Caraga provinces

Fil Victor A. Babanto, Chief Information Services Section (ISS) of ATI-RTC 13 discussed School-on-the-Air on Smart Rice Agriculture (SOA-SRA) mechanics of implementation during the Regional Technical Working Group and provincial farm casters meeting last February 3, 2021.

BUTUAN CITY- The Regional Technical Working Group of the national School-on-the-Air (SOA) program on Smart Rice Agriculture (SRA) will be conducting a provincial briefing in March.

As agreed during the previous meeting with the provincial, municipal and city farmcasters, target schedules are as follows; March 9, 2021 will be in Butuan City and Agusan del Norte province, March 10, 2021 in Agusan del Sur, March 11, 2021 in Surigao del Sur and March 12, 2021 for Surigao del Norte and Dinagat Islands provinces.

Moreover, the SOA-SRA shall be a continuing radio-based distance learning program for farmers and local intermediaries nationwide. It helps catalyze agriculture modernization through the massive and sustained education of smallholder farmers and local intermediaries on modern and innovative technologies and approaches to smart rice production.

The RTWG comprised the Department of Agriculture Caraga, Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) 13 and Philippine Rice Research Institute(PhilRice)-Agusan Experiment Station.
