BUTUAN CITY – In support of the Department of Agriculture’s thrust for the country’s food security and promotion of different agricultural programs, the Agricultural Training Institute is prioritizing activities involving information dissemination using different media channels such as social media, television, and radio.
Broadcasting through radio remains the most powerful companion medium especially in remote and far-flung areas. It was in this view that ATI-Regional Training Center XIII will launch five School-on-the-Air (SOA) Programs for Caraga Region.
The SOAs will focus on Organic Agriculture Production in Surigao del Sur, Cacao Production in Agusan del Sur, Corn Production in Agusan del Norte, Free-range chicken Production in Surigao del Norte, and Smart Rice Agriculture (SRA) which will air for the whole Caraga Region.
Said programs already started their coordination meetings with the respective Local Government Units (LGUs) and other agencies such as the Department of Agriculture - Caraga Region and Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilRice) – Agusan Experiment Station.
