LOS ANGELES, Butuan City – Aimed to harmonize programs among agricultural extension partners and determine need-based training among farmers and stakeholders, the Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) XIII led the Regional Consultative Meeting and Planning Workshop for Corn and Cassava Program 2021-2025 on February 23, 2021.
There were 18 representatives from the provincial, municipal, and city Local Government Units who attended the activity. There were also two participants from the Department of Agriculture Caraga Region Office who presented the Overview of Corn Program roadmap for Region XIII.
The activity was highlighted by the presentation of CY 2020 accomplishment and 2021 Plans, Programs, and other extension activities under corn.
Participants presented their training needs for the coming years of 2022-2025.
“Extension services will now shift its gear from farmers-level approach to Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) approach. This means that we need to get the needs of our agricultural technologists who are the ground workers in the agricultural field. With this, we could achieve optimum results of effective and efficient delivery of services to our clientele,” said Mr. Matt Andrew Baquiano, Agriculturist II of ATI.
