Dr. Rosana Mula, OIC Director III of ATI, explained to the Indigenous People (IP) how ATI can assist them towards agricultural development.
AMPAYON, Butuan City – The Caraga Literacy and Agriculture Global Grant Program Agenda was launched last February 24, 2020 at the Caraga State University (CSU), this city. No less than Dr. Rosana Mula, the new OIC-Deputy Director of the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI), was among the invited guests who conveyed the message of support to the Indigenous People (IP) of Caraga.
The purpose of this program was to capacitate the Caraga IPs specifically those awarded with Certificate of Ancestral Domain Title (CADT) in the hope of uplifting their lives through agricultural development. This initiative was through the two non-governmental organizations (NGOs) namely the Global Partnership for Sustainable Solutions (GPSS) and the Global Action Platform with the support of Rotary Club Butuan and other government agencies such as the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), National Commission on Indigenous People (NCIP), Department of Agriculture (DA), Agricultural Training Institute (ATI), Philippine Fiber Industry Authority (PhilFIDA), Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA), among others.
Director Mula during her message explained to the IPs how ATI can help through training services and other capacity-building undertakings. Also present in the activity to give his words of encouragement was Samuel Calonzo, Center Director of ATI-RTC 13.
The said launching heralded the start of the lecture-filled activities which will culminate on March 15, 2020. Within that duration, there will be several lectures on coconut production, abaca farming, leadership and extension delivery system. Other than that, participants will also have field visitation and teaching demonstrations to further their learning.
