Director Mula engages with the participants during the TOT on Agri-Development for IPs held at ATI-RTC 13, Los Angeles, Butuan City last February 24, 2020.

LOS ANGELES, Butuan City – The newly-appointed OIC Director III of the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI), in the person of Dr. Rosana Mula, became the first speaker of the “Workforce Development for CADT: Training of Trainers on Agri-Development for Indigenous People (IP)” held last February 24, 2020 at the new function hall of ATI-RTC 13.

Director Mula was invited by the Global Partnership for Sustainable Solutions (GPSS) and the Global Action Platform, both Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) who initiated the said training, to act as a resource person on agricultural extension. She explained about the mandate and role of ATI under the Department of Agriculture including its programs, projects and services.

“Para po maayos at makabago ang pag-iisip ng mga magsasaka sa larangan ng agrikultura, kailangan po natin ng mga extension workers. Kaya po kung kayo ay may talento sa pagtuturo pwede po kayo maging extension workers namin sa inyong komunidad, para tutulong sa amin na maipaliwanag ang mga makabagong pamamaraan sa pagsasaka,” she said this in reference to the micro-teaching activity that will be conducted on the later part of the training where participants are taught on communication and presentation skills in preparation to their future role as para-technicians to their fellow IPs.
