LOS ANGELES, Butuan City – The Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center 13 invites deserving youth to take part in the 11-month internship program through the Filipino Young Farmers Internship Program in Taiwan.
It is focused on the acquisition of skills and knowledge through the exchange of modern agricultural and fisheries techniques, marketing strategies and mechanisms, cooperative management as well as enhancement of competencies, discipline and values. This is to prepare the youth in carrying out their future tasks of making agricultural lands productive to ensure a food-secure country.
The internship is open for young farmers who are out-of-school youth from ages 18-36 years old preferably son or daughter of Learning Site/Farm School Cooperators who is willing to learn modern Taiwanese farming. Since the internship requires a re-entry plan upon completion, the intern must have existing land and at least one year of accumulated farming experience. It will be implemented on a cost-sharing basis.
The list of basic qualifications and documentary requirements can be accessed at www.ati.da.gov.ph/ati-13. Applications are extended until March 3, 2021 to give ample time for evaluation and field validation prior to the simultaneous examination scheduled on March 8, 2021.
The program is a partnership between the Department of Agriculture, Manila Economic and Cultural Office and Taipei Economic and Cultural Office which aims to develop young farmers to become farmer leaders and empowered agricultural entrepreneurs through an internship.
