Presentation and critiquing of the participants' outputs on image editing and desktop publishing training on Feb. 18-21, 2019.
BUTUAN CITY- More than thirty (30) participants successfully completed the training on image editing and desktop publishing for Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials development held at VCDU Grand Convention, Butuan City on February 18-21, 2019.
This training aimed at capacitating Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs), specifically the Information Service Specialists (ISS) of the Farmers’ Information and Technology Services (FITS) Centers in Region 13. Two staff from the Department of Agriculture- Regional Field Office (DA-RFO) 13 and five ATI staff also participated in the said training.
Through this training, the participants were equipped with knowledge and skills in lay-outing, packaging and producing IEC materials in print.
Moreover, participants were able to produce posters and leaflets as their outputs during the training. Documenting and packaging Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and best practices as well as success stories of farmers in their respective locality will be their assigned task as FITS centers’ ISS.
Top 6 of the Best poster and leaflet were recognized during the closing program they were from Esperanza, Agusan del Sur- (2), Trento, Agusan del Sur- (1) San Agustin, Surigao del Sur- (1) DA-RFO 13- (1) and ATI staff-(1).
ATI-Caraga’s OIC-Center Director Samuel L. Calonzo congratulated participants for a job well done. “Practice your acquired skills on lay-outing and packaging IEC materials in your respective area so that you will be more equipped in serving the public, farmers in particular,” Calonzo stated.
Said training was conducted by the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) 13 based at Los Angeles, Butuan City. Mr. Fil Victor Babanto, Section Chief of the Information Services Section (ISS) served as project officer.
