BUTUAN CITY – Farmer participants of Season-Long Climate Smart Farm Business School (CSFBS) last June – October 2018 from San Isidro, Tandag City conducted a benchmarking activity at Farm Family Approach on Resource Management for Sustainability (FFARMS) located at Agricultural Training Institute- Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) 13, Los Angeles, Butuan City.
Visitors were briefed on a short background of how FFARMS emerged in ATI.
FFARMS aims to teach the farm family to maximize its limited resources, to increase farm productivity and income as well as strengthen the family bond. The demo farm showcases different vegetable crops, fruits, medicinal plants, poultry and livestock.
The group also visited the first “Palayamanan Plus” established in Brgy. Pinamanculan, Butuan City which exhibits poultry, livestock and plantation crops like banana.
Ms. Carmel Lyn V. Dequito and Ms. Adelfa S. Ilisan, both Agricultural Technologists (ATs) from the City Agriculture Office of Tandag, Surigao del Sur, accompanied the partakers.
