QUEZON, Bukidnon – In order to inform more farmers regarding the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) Program, the Center has participated yet again in another General Assembly. This time, the Center was invited by the PEVIA, an irrigators association situated at Paitan, Quezon, Bukidnon.
The assembly was held at the office of the association located at Purok 8, Paitan, Quezon, Bukidnon. A total of 50 farmer-members attended the activity, together with their 12 board members.
Ms. Jhoylie Mae C. Rosales, DMO-II and Rice Focal Person of the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center X, explained comprehensively to the farmers what is Republic Act 11203, its implications and importance. After which, the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) Program with its four (4) key components namely: Extension Program, Credit Program, Mechanization Program and Seed Program was expounded. Aside from this, Ms. Rosales emphasized the importance of the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA).
The importance of the information drive was greatly appreciated during the activity since most of the farmers in the area only heard of the program, but does not know its gist or the requirements needed in order to avail of the programs. Furthermore, they were also not well-informed of the RSBSA listing, which is a very vital information.
