AgriTalk 2019 in Iligan City to highlight Mushroom and Rice

ATI Compound, El Salvador City---The biggest gathering of agriculture aficionados and free seminar via AgriTalk 2019 is headed to the City of Waterfalls!

After the resounding success of a one-day seminar to promote urban agriculture last May at SM Downtown Premier in Cagayan de Oro City, a follow-up AgriTalk in Iligan City will take place at Robinsons Place on October 29-30, 2019.

A Free Seminar on Mushroom Production is slated on October 29 where participants will have the opportunity to learn basic principles and best practices in spawn making and mushroom growing and its value-added products. Spawn Production will be discussed by Mr. Mariano Vicente III; Mushroom Production will be delivered by Mr. Numeriano Quemado III, and Mushroom Processing by Mr. Francis Jacutin.

By October 30 in the afternoon, Rice Tariffication Law will be discussed Ms. Noemi Beth G. Macario, Information Officer III of ATI – RTC X to be followed by Rice Value Chain by Rice Specialist and Consultant Dr. Angelito Y. Quirog; Rice Productivity by Mr. James P. Longcob of JPL Farm; and Value–Addition in Rice Processing by Mr. Nick Engallado of Engallado’s Farm. An Open Forum will follow later that day.

This is the fourth AgriTalk to be conducted this year. The seminar is FREE with a Certificate of Attendance and is open to ALL especially urban agriculture enthusiasts at Robinsons Place in Iligan City. It will start at 10:00 AM and will end at 5:00 PM.

AgriTalk 2019 forms part of the 2nd Farmers’ Summit: An Agri-Food Fair and National Rice Awareness Month Celebration Kick-Off which will run on October 27-31 with the theme “Agrikultura Atimanon, Asenso Iliganon”. The said summit is in partnership with the Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Office X (DA-RFO X), Office of Congressman Frederick W. Siao, TESDA-Region X, ALSEA Coop and Margeuries House of Goodies.
