SMART Communications, ATI partner for Digital Farmers Program

L-R, Mr. Mon Isberto of Smart and Director Alfredo Aton of ATI during the MOU signing

The Digital Farmers Program marks a new partnership between the Agricultural Training institute and Smart Communications Inc. was inked during the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the two. Smart Communications was represented by Mr. Ramon Isberto, head of Public Affairs and Corporate Communications and Director Alfredo S. Aton of ATI.
The Digital Farmers Program will promote access by our farmers to more digital tools and technologies. In a component program called Milleneors, non-IT literate farmers will be paired with a youth, preferably members of his household. The older farmers would impart his wisdom and knowledge to the younger generation while the latter will share to his “mentor” on how to use Information technology tools in his farming. This includes farming apps like Rice Crop Manager, drones, precision farming, e-trading, e-money and many other innovative programs and technologies.
ATI Northern Mindanao will start implementing the program on September 2019 with a series of trainings for the Milenneors such as DFP 101, DFP 102, DFP 103.
