The Agricultural Training Institute was featured during the Talakayan with the Media of Cagayan de Oro City on March 22, 2019. Talakayan is a Media Forum initiated by the Philippine Information Agency (PIA 10) in partnership with SM Group. The activity was held at the Events Center of SM Downtown Premier in Cagayan de Oro City.
The ATI was represented by OIC Center Director, Maria Lydia Echavez, OIC Assistant Center Director, Noemi Beth Macario and Media Production Specialist II of ATI Central Office, Mr. Karl Loiue Salibio. The Program host is Ms. Jasper Marie O. Rucat of PIA 10.
Media partners who joined the activity were from: Eagle News, DXIM, Brigada News FM, Golden Banner, Magnum Radyo, Radyo ni Juan, Businessweek, Sunstar CDO and Benta Birada News Daily.
Among the major topics discussed were: Agritalk 2019, How to entice the youth in agriculture, programs of the ATI such as Agriculture technology trainings, e-Extension, Urban Agriculture and the existence of Learning Sites in the Region. Members of the media were very interested to visit and feature the ATI accredited Learning sites of Northern Mindanao.
The activity ended with a promise by ATI to bring the media to Learning Sites so that they too can help convince the Public especially the youth to go into agriculture, and that farming is sexy, fun and profitable.
