Kalilangan, BUKIDNON-- A strong corn industry that provides safe and healthy harvest through environmental friendly practices has been the drive of the region, especially the province of Bukidnon in the past years.
ATI-Regional Training Center X conducted the Training on Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) for Corn Production on March 13-15, 2019 .
The training intends to develop trainers that could help create a GAP compliance municipality in the province.
There were 35 participants who joined and actively participated the three-day activity. Most of them are corn farmers from the different barangay of Kalilangan , Bukidnon.
The training was highlighted by lectures and discussion on the principles and standards of Philippine-GAP, and inspection guidelines and procedures for certification. All that were necessary in providing the municipality to produce GAP-ready and competitive farms and farmers.
Likewise, participants participated a mock-inspection assessing actual farms based on GAP record form used for assessing GAP applicants. The activity let the participants exercised GAP principles, standards, and assessment protocols.
The activity was held in Poblacion, Kalilangan, Bukidnon( by the reports of Noriel KrIs Santillan).
