To realize responsible, safe and efficient healthy food supply chain in the region, the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center 10 ( ATI-RTC 10) conducted a Training on Food Safety: Food Quality and Safety System.
The training was joined and participated by 38 Meat inspectors and Livestock Technicians from the different municipalities in region 10.
The training specifically aims to produce knowledgeable livestock coordinator and technicians on the basic concept, principles and requirement of the food safety system that is highly applicable in their fields.
International laws and protocols on food safety were also discussed. This is to help participants familiarize laws and protocols, and internalize how they could strategize to strictly implement these protocols as frontline workers in the industry. The training also emphasized the quality standards of the Good Manufacturing Practices ( GMP) that must be observed in food production handling and manufacturing.
“ The implementation of food safety ( practices and protocols) in my locality is a big challenge, and I need to hone my knowledge and skills to be able to take this challenge, as it is also my responsibility as a meat inspector,” said Aries L. Cresencio, one of the participants of the training.
Participants have eagerly participated in different workshops and group presentations during the three-day training.
