New Year, New Learning Site Partners

Old is Gold: Farmer couple Vicente Barretto and Adeliza Barretto of Balaymalay Integrated and Diversified Farm in San Jose, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon undergoes a one-on-one reorientation on Learning Site for Agriculture (LSA) by Agriculturist II Cristine Galupo. The effort of the couple to still contribute and engage in crop production to ensure the country’s food security is commendable.

ATI-RTC X Compound, El Salvador City---The Learning Site (LS) and School for Practical Agriculture (SPA) partners of the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center X (ATI-RTC X) is growing exponentially as it pursues to double the number this year consistent with the program thrust of the Institute.

As the lead agency in agricultural and fisheries extension, the ATI taps rural farms to serve as Learning Sites for knowledge sharing opportunities for farmers and would-be farmers.

The new Learning Site (LS) partners of the center are as follows:

1. San Simon National High School Integrated and Diversified Farm headed by Principal Edgar G. Espinosa Jr. of San Simon in Iponan, Cagayan de Oro City.

2. Balaymalay Integrated and Diversified Farm in San Jose, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon (owned by farmer couple Vicente Barretto and Adeliza Barretto)

The date of validity of their LS farm as cooperators will run from July 16, 2018 and valid until July 16, 2023. To date, ATI Northern Mindanao has certified 80 Learning Sites in the region and eight of which were upscaled to School for Practical Agriculture (SPA) to serve as demonstration areas for the Institute's agricultural training programs.
