Coffee-based Products take Centerstage in 1st Info Caravan

Ms. Imelda "Bebing" Mendoza

Kape Maramag RIC President Imelda "Bebing" Mendoza in her message mentioned the importance of patronage and support to local products such as Kape Maramag so that coffee and other high-value commodities will thrive aside from helping more coffee producers and the coffee industry in general.

Maramag, Bukidnon---Since its soaring popularity and patronage from major coffee-lovers and drinkers overseas and for bagging the Best Coffee-Robusta Category, Kape Maramag became a household name when it won as the Grand Champion (for Robusta) during last year’s 1st Kape Pilipino Cupping Competition sponsored by the Agricultural Cooperative Development International/Volunteers in Overseas Cooperative Assistance (ACDI/VOCA). Kape Maramag bested 78 other known coffee producers all over the Philippines.

To promote coffee locally and the many uses and health benefits it can give, the Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center X (ATI-RTC X) through the Information Services Section (ISS) funded by the High Value Commercial Development Program (HVCDP) via focal person Ms. Moisa Nina D. Catiil, staged recently the first Info Caravan on the Wonders of Coffee held at Poblacion in Maramag, Bukidnon on October 25, 2018.

“We hope that through this activity, we will patronize and promote Kape Maramag since it has already reached the shores of the US of A. Feel free to tell your colleagues, neighbors, and friends about it so they can buy and as our own way of helping our coffee producers and the industry in general. I am supposed to deliver an Inspirational Message about this event but I ended up being inspired.” said OIC-Center Director Maria Lydia A. Echavez in her message.

Meanwhile, Info Chief Noemi Beth G. Macario with ISS colleagues Vic Thor A Palarca, MaryLie P. Monteroyo, Cassandra Camille Rosos and Jeric L. Cabatac initiated and threw some fun-filled activities for the said info caravan.

Kape Maramag RIC President Imelda "Bebing" Mendoza in close coordination with LGU Maramag showcased various delectable coffee-based products in the event. Aside from serving free hot coffees, delicious and mouth-watering treats such as coffee-infused cakes, doughnuts, cupcakes, ice cream, coffee frappe were offered for free taste by Dingy’s Cakes and Pastries and Jamaican F&B.
