Byaheng Agripreneur: A Learning Journey for Agriculture Enthusiast

Our Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) are some of the consistent contributors to the strength of Philippine economy in terms of revenue. With the vast potential of what agriculture can bring to our financial gain and to the country's thriving economy in general, the “Byaheng Agripreneur” convergence program is a timely initiative for them to invest in agriculture.

Province of Bukidnon---The “Byaheng Agripreneur: A Learning Journey for Agriculture Enthusiast” is a convergence program of the National Reintegration Center for OFWs (NRCO) and the Department of Agriculture (DA) through the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI).

The project aims to prepare undocumented and distressed Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and their families the potentials of agriculture in terms of financial and economic profit. It also aims to heighten their awareness on agribusiness that can eventually lead to a comfortable and productive life in the Philippines and have an option either to work or not to work overseas again. It is an onsite visit to farms which shall serve as an exposure in the actual management of farm businesses in Region X.

The activity was facilitated by its Regional Coordinator, Ms. Marry Gil A. Damasing and assisted by the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center X (ATI-RTC X). It was held at the accredited Learning Sites (LS) of the center such as Alomah's Place in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon and Jaya’s Secret Garden in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon on June 27, 2018. The participants have appreciated the amenities offered by Alomah’s Place and Jaya Secret Garden and bought plenty of various farm products. (with reports from Jhoylie Mae C.
