Camiguin Hosts 5th Regional 4-H Youth Camp

MAMBAJAO, CAMIGUIN-. The provincial Government of Camiguin hosted the 5th Regional 4-H Youth Camp on April 10 – 12, 2018, at the Camiguin Convention Center, Capitol Hills, Pandan, Mambajao, Camiguin . The activity is spearheaded by the Federation of 4-H Clubs- Region 10, with the support from the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center 10, and the Department of Agriculture- Regional Field Office 10.

The program opened with one of the solemn ceremonies of the 4-H organization, the Flag Ritual. Marching towards the center were the Provincial and City 4-H Clubs Presidents of Region 10: Lanao del Norte, Misamis Oriental, Bukidnon, Iligan City, Cagayan de Oro City, and Malaybalay City. Together the delegations recited the 4-H credo for their commitment to the club and the country.
4-H Club which stands for the Head, Heart, Hands and Health advocates its principles through this year’s theme: LIVE.LOVE.FARM. Hence, the three day affair included lectures on Farm Tourism and Farm Tourism Act of 2016, Forming Values in the Use of Social Media and a Young Filipino Farmers Training Program in Japan shared his experience.

Honorable Mayor Jurdin Jesus Modina Romualdo of Mambajao in his inspirational message advised the delegates: “4-H members, listen to your parents and teachers. Put your heart and mind to whatever you do for the good of the future, because at the end of the day, it is you who will be great”. As an expression of welcome, Mayor Romualdo promised to treat the delegates to the Soda Spring Resort after the event.

The highlights of activities include the contests on Extemporaneous Speaking, Innovative Farm Lay- out Making,Quizz Bee, Food Processing and Packaging, Plaque Making, Video Making Contest, and the most awaited amazing race.
