Vegetable Production and Edible Landscaping Conducted

The training participants of the Vegetable Production and Edible Landscaping took the time to have a photo-op with their farming tools and implements along with their illustration in landscaping and permaculture.

A training on Vegetable Production and Edible Landscaping conducted by the center through the Partnerships and Accreditation Services Section (PASS) was held recently to help the communities, and the country at large to become food secure.

This said training was requested by Public Schools District Supervisor Romil T. Jabonero together with the faculties of Luyungan High School in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon. The objective was to establish their own edible garden to support the needs of their IP students while in school. Twenty-four participants consisting of faculties and students of Luyungan High School actively participated the training. Together with Mr. Junah S. Bayag of Jaya’s Secret Garden, the participants were able to learn permaculture, and other technical ways of gardening and art of landscaping.

The training intended to encourage the training participants to venture on gardening, by educating them and enhancing their knowledge and skills integrating the art of landscaping. Among the hands-on technologies demonstrated during the training proper include; soil media preparation, proper planting of vegetables, installation of landscape garden, and production of organic concoctions.

As an output of their training last October 27-29, 2021, the participants made organic concoctions, field activities and present their own illustration of gardening and landscaping that maximizes their own space at home. (with reports from Mae Antoinette Nebris and Jisa Tambiado-Dulay)
