ATI has continually served its clients by delivering excellent extension services beyond boundaries as its RICE Program achieves 100% of its Capability Enhancement for AEW target for FY 2021.

The RICE Program has targeted and completed 4 batches of the training with a total of 80 AEWs trained from all over the region starting May to August, 2021.

As part of ATI’s mandate which is to assist the local government units’ extension system by improving effectiveness and efficiency through capability building and complementary extension activities. This training primarily aims to equip the new generation of AEWs with working knowledge, skills and attitude to become effective extension service providers especially in adapting to change, overcoming resistance and adopting innovations and efficient techniques in the delivery of quality extension services.

Initially the training is designed for a face to face set-up to address the need to develop the core competencies of the AEWs being the primary agents of change and are front-line extension workers, but given the current situation, the implementing program has devised its activities for an online mode of training.

The biggest challenge there was to face was the problem on internet connection, but with the dedication of the participants to become even more effective in their field of expertise, they persevered throughout the whole durations of the training by finding ways to attend to the training virtually.

This training for AEW is CPD registered. Project officers for the different batches were Ms. Jhoylie Mae R. Caumban, DMO II, and technical staffs Mr. Bryan Jay V. Cabugwason, and Mr. Reymard M. Galarrita.
