MAGPATAO, LALA, Lanao Del Norte – The 2-,month Farmer Livestock School (FLS) on Meat-Type Goat Production yielded 18 graduates, 8 females and 10 males. The graduation was held on September 18, 2017 at The Country Farm, Magpatao, Lala, Lanao del Norte.

The event was graced by the presence of the Provincial Veterinarian of Lanao del Norte, Dr. Fritzie P. Provido; the Municipal Agriculturist from LGU-Lala, Lanao del Norte, Mr. Ronnel S. Baroy and the Training Center Superintendent II of ATI-RTC X, Dr. Angelito Y. Quirog.

The Farmer Livestock School (FLS) on Meat-Type Goat Production ran from July 11, 2017 until September 18, 2017. This was realized because although the total goat inventory in the country is steadily increasing at 2% per year, there is not enough supply to meet its current demand since more and more consumers are shifting to goat meat.

In the end, the event was ended with the participants wearing a smile on their faces with the hope of applying what they learned during the training into their own farms. Truly, they are still diamonds in the rough who would eventually shine brighter than the stars in the future. (with report from Jeric Cabatac)
