LGU Cabanglasan Receives Certificate for PhP 10M for 60-Sow Level Multiplier Farm during Sec Dar’s Visit

MALAYBALAY CITY, BUKIDNON-- The P10M 60-sow level Multiplier Farm Project under the Bayanihan 2 of the National Livestock Program was formally turned-over to LGU Cabanglasan, Bukidnon by OIC-Center Director, Maria Lydia A. Echavez. The turn-over was done during the visit of Secretary William D. Dar of the Department of Agriculture to Bukidnon today, February 12, 2021. Together with Secretary Dar were USEC for Livestock, William Medrano, USEC for Regulations and Infrastructure Zamzamin L. Ampatuan, ASEC Noel Reyes and PhilMech Executive Director Baldwin G. Jallorina. Also present were Officials of the DA and its attached Bureaus and Agencies in the Region headed by Regional Executive Director Carlene Collado. Congressmen Hon. Jonathan Keith Flores and Hon. Rogelio Neil Roque of Districts 2 and 4 respectively were also present. The DA dignitaries were there for the Turnover of Various Machineries, Equipment and other Agri-Interventions in Northern Mindanao.
Hon. Jose Maria Zubiri welcomed the DA delegation and thanked the Secretary for the P 315M worth of machineries and infrastructure projects and P197M worth of agri-interventions which was turned over to Bukidnon LGUs and Farmer Associations and Cooperatives during the activity. The machineries were part of the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) Mechanization component. The Hon. Senator Cynthia Villar, author of the Rice Tarrification Law which created RCEF also gave a message through virtual means.
Also part of the activity is the signing of the Pledge of Commitment for the launching of the Bantay ASF sa barangay (BABay ASF) Program. ATI for its part will be holding a series of trainings on Bio Security, Surveillance, Specimen Collection and Geo-tagging for the five provinces in the region from March to June. Today, the Agristoryahay Webinar Series tackled the African Swine Fever, prevention and control.
The 10M Multiplier Farm which will have a 60-sow level capacity was awarded by ATI to Cabanglasan with the aim that it will be a sustainable and eligible source of quality hogs that would be available to the local farmers to help hasten recovery and restoration of livelihoods affected by the pandemic and African Swine Fever (ASF).
The Co-Chairman of the Committee on Agriculture, Hon. Kagawad Charlie Castillanes and Dr. Anita Macabugto, Municipal Agriculturist received the certificate in behalf of Mayor Renante V. Inocando. Also present during the turn-over is ATI OIC Assistant Center Director Noemi Beth Macario.
