Kibawe, Bukidnon---The potential of cassava as source of livelihood is promising. With that in mind, a Training on Cassava Processing and Utilization was organized recently at the Municipal Agriculture Office in Kibawe, Bukidnon.
The aforementioned training was mounted to highlight value-adding processing activities to small processors and women agri-entrepreneurs to generate additional income, provide livelihood opportunities, enhance entrepreneurial skills, and to improve business marketing strategies.
Several mouthwatering delicacies and pasalubong items were showcased in a series of cooking demo like cassava flan, cassava cookies, cassava jolly stick, cacharon (cassava chicharon), and cassava roll.
During the training proper, the participants discussed food safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Sanitize Standard Operating Procedure (SSOP), designing label and packaging as well as costing and packaging.
The three-day activity was attended and completed by 20 participants composed of cassava farmers from Laswimba MPC, Labuagon, and Kibawe, Bukidnon on October 7 to 9, 2020. Training Specialist II Noriel Kris Santillan served as the project officer.
