The ATI-RTC X has been receiving a lot of application for Accreditation as ATI Learning Sites. This week, three farms within Cagayan de Oro City were validated and recommended for accreditation by the ATI Technical Working Group (TWG). The farms are: My Only Way, Inc. (MOWI) Farm located at Sitio Basac, Bagocboc, Opol, Misamis Oriental; LF Farm in Barangay Canitoan and Donggay Farm in Lumbia, Cagayan de Oro City.
MOWI Farm is a 26-hectare rolling area planted to dragon fruit, cacao, black rice, banana and other fruit trees. A Glass-walled training center has been conducted at the top of the hill overlooking the farm. Mr. Alejandro Paloma said they have plans to plant more fruit trees. He said that the construction of a dormitory is planned for 2018 and that they will be ready to host trainings. The farm is part of the Mindanao Enduro Park, the country’s first and largest motorcycle park.
LF Farm, owned by Lucas Faborada, a former army is a mango farm integrated with free range chicken and goats. The farm which is located at Barangay Canitoan, Cagayan de Oro City also showcases the modular vegetable growing system and has hosted Farmer Field Schools in the farm.
Donggay Farm in Lumbia, Cagayan de Oro City is also a mango farm integrated with free range chicken, ducks, turkey and race horses. The farm has also hosted Farmer Field School on mango, having more than 200 carabao mango trees and more than 50 other types of mango such as pajo, indian, florida, apple and evergreen. The farm is owned by Engr and Mrs. Donggay.
