I also believe that there is more learning in doing than just by listening. Thank you also to our Learning Site (LS) partners old and new as our partners in the field in terms of extension delivery.” OIC-Center Director said in her response to the impressions of the graduates.

EL SALVADOR CITY, Misamis Oriental---Culminating the Season-Long Farmers’ Livestock School on Meat and Dairy Goat Production and Dairy Herd Management, a total of 43 graduates consisting of livestock raisers in Northern Mindanao were in attendance today, Wednesday October 10.

Among the invited dignitaries include El Salvador City Vice-Mayor Eduardo Ayunting (on behalf of City Mayor Edgar S. Lignes, Northern Mindanao Federation of Dairy Cooperatives (NMFDC) National Board of Director Robert M. Enerio, and NDA Training Officer Romy Bongabong.

“Nindot kaayo ni nga programa kay natagaan ug pagtagad ang atong ka-igsoonan nga mga mag-uuma para sila makapamuhi ug mapadaghan nila ilang mga binuhi nga baka ug kanding. Kini nga programa makatabang usab sa pag-mentenar sa kalidad sa atong gatas nga ginabaligya ug maanindot ang kalidad sa atong produkto. Salamat sad sa ATI nga ginapaningkamutan nila nga makakat-on ang atong mga graduates karon ug nadugangan ilang mga kaalam ug abilidad.”, El Salvador City Vice Mayor Ayunting said in his message.

Moreover, the mounting of the aforementioned season-long training prompted for the Misamis Oriental Goats, Sheeps, and Fowl Raisers Cooperative (MOGSFRC) to be organized with Retired Colonel Florante Occena as the cooperative president.

OIC-Center Director in her response to the impression of the graduates said, “I am very proud of your sharings and impressions. I urge you all also to continue learning and share what you have learned. Continue also to humble yourselves as you go on in your venture. The event was organized and coordinated by Project Officer (PO) Aleli Jean A. Paulican in close coordination with the Northern Mindanao Federation of Dairy Cooperatives (NMFDC) makers of the popular Highland Fresh Dairy Products.

The season-long training is in support to the National Livestock Program of the Department of Agriculture (DA) which intends to ensure food security, alleviate poverty, enhance income and profitability leading to a livestock industry which shows strong promise in terms of agribusiness venture anchored on food security and farmers’ profitability.
