Organic Veggie Prod kicks-off, use of Local Resources practiced

Training participants of the Organic Vegetable Production were all smiles and confident posing with their finished product concoction using locally available materials.

BUHIAN DIVERSIFIED FARM, Initao, Misamis Oriental---Supporting the thrust of the Organic Agriculture Program which is to produce and provide safe, nutritious and quality food for the Filipino family, a Training on Organic Vegetable Production (Training on Organic Agriculture for OA Organizations) transpired recently.

With the aim to enhance the knowledge and skills of the training participants on organic vegetable production, a total of 21 participants composing of Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) and farmers from the different Municipalities of Misamis Oriental attended the aforementioned training.

The participants have undergone modules of the core competencies used in TESDA NC II assessment such as producing organic concoctions and extracts and producing organic vegetables. Also, they were able to practice producing organic concoctions and extracts, Lokong making and compute Carbon Nitrogen ratio for organic fertilizer production based on available local resources.
