Poblacion, El Salvador City---Armed with rakes, long sticks and used sacks, the management and staff of the center recently trooped out to clean public parks and places, rivers, creeks, coastal areas and waterways.
The move was an effort to combat pollution and get rid of trash which threatens human health and communities. This is pursuant to the Presidential Proclamation Nos. 244 & 470 declaring September as National Clean-Up Drive Month and the third week of September as the International Coastal Clean-Up Drive Week. The International Coastal Clean-Up is the world’s largest volunteer effort on behalf of ocean and waterway health.
The City-wide Clean-Up and Coastal Clean-up Drive on September 20, 2019 was also enjoined by various city officials, department heads, local and national offices, private-owned institutions, and LGUs of El Salvador City.
