ATI Compound, EL SALVADOR CITY---Spectacular episodes await viewers this month of September as topics on Beekeeping, Honey Processing, Meat Processing and Ham Making and Fish Processing are slated for 'AgriStoryahay sa ATI' webinar series. The said webinar series of the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center X (ATI-RTC X) is off to another fresh episodes focused surely to inform, enlighten and delight agri-enthusiasts from all walks of life.
AgriStoryahay, which airs every Friday of the month at 10:00 AM, spins a new dimension of online learning via live streaming at the ATI Northmin’s Official Facebook page.
Basics of Beekeeping (Episode 20 – September 4, 2020)
Established in mind to maximize the benefits of bees in the environment, Bukidnon Farmer Bee in Bangcud, Malaybalay City keeps the buzzword in the map that bees as pollinators make flowers bloom and plants bear fruit contribute to the good food we enjoy and helps farmers maintain a bountiful harvest. For farm owners Benjie Bryan Ducusin Aribal and Angela Almendras Aribal, caring for the bees enabled them access to resources and raw products such as honey, propolis, and pollen.
Honey Processing (Episode 21 – September 11, 2020)
Bees prepare honey mainly from the nectar of flowers, but other use plant saps and honeydew can also be used. Honeys contain a wide range of sugars and their flavors vary according to the nectar source. After the liquid has been placed in the cell of honeycomb, bees continue to process it. For this episode, Benjie Bryan Ducusin Aribal and Angela Almendras Aribal of Bukidnon Farmer Bee continues to share tips and effective ways how to process honey for consumption and profit.
Meat Processing and Ham Making (Episode 22 – September 18, 2020)
Now that the ‘ber’ month is already here and the countdown to Christmas is on, processing meat and making hams would be a great venture to augment one’s income and earn while in high spirit of the season. With Episode 22, Food Technologist Anthonette June D. Russel and our very own Administrative Officer IV Efren C. Macario will teach us how to make sumptuous hams and savory longganisa.
Also, Meat Inspection III Marjorie D. Paje of National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS) will walk us through in the daily operations in a slaughter house and a dressing plant.
Fish Processing (Episode 23 – September 25, 2020)
Whenever fish supplies are abundant, keeping a stash in the kitchen by preserving it is a sure way to savor its flavor and freshness all year round. Fish processing can become a source for additional income and other basic needs at home. For episode 23, Food Technologist Anthonette June D. Russel and Administrative Officer IV Efren C. Macario will do a demo on how to make fish nuggets and Spanish sardines.
A corresponding e-Certificate will be given for every completed episode. Prizes and freebies are also given away per contest.
Debuted on April 24 this year, “AgriStoryahay sa ATI” is a FREE and no-frills webinar series in support to the “Plant, Plant, Plant Program” and “Ahon Lahat, Pagkaing Sapat Kontra sa Covid-19” (ALPAS COVID 19) of the Department of Agriculture. It is produced by the Information Services (IS) section of ATI-Region X and also joined by a network of agri-experts and specialist of the center.
