SOA in Kauswagan Officially Signs Off with about 500 Graduates

Corn and livestock are two of the main commodities of farmers in Kauswagan, Lanao del Norte. As part of the Local Government’s move towards the empowerment of their farmers on the production of the said commodities, it partners with Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center X ( ATI-RTC X) for the conduct of the School-On the Air on Corn Production with crop and livestock Integration.

The said SOA inducted about 500 farmer graduates on August 15, 2018 at Kauswagan Municipal Gym, Kauswagan, Lanao del Norte. Graduates were from the different barangays in Kauswagan, Bacolod, and Linamon.
The program started to air on May 15, 2018 to July 26 2018, every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday from 10:00- 11:00 in the morning at 92.9 EDGE FM.

The almost two months airings were concluded with a face-to-face examination . The assessment determines the top students of the SOA who were recognized and received awards during the ceremony , to wit: Knapsack sprayers, plows, kitchen utensils , and other customized corporate goodies from ATI-RTC 10. Farmers were very appreciative of the program.

“ Ini-enganyo ko ang aking kapwa farmers na supportahan and program ng ating Gobyerno, at i-apply natin and atong mga natutunan,” said Mr. Agustono Denopol, participant and an Honor Student of the said SOA.

While Mr. Calixto Lapus have shared on stage some farming practices and technologies he has long been doing in his farm that he thinks should be unlearn while learning from the lessons of the program.

The Local Government Unit of Kauswagan has been a long time partner of the agency in the implementation of SOA, and has been very supportive of the different programs of the agency in the region.

SOA has been ATI’s strategy to widen the reach of its extension service all over the country.
