Poblacion, El Salvador City---Mounting two separate batches of “Assessment of Learning Sites for Agriculture (LSA) and Schools for Practical Agriculture (SPA) in Region-X”, the Partnership and Accreditation Services Section (PASS) led by section chief Anita L. Molijon administered an assessment regarding the performance and services provided by the LS and SPA owners in consonance with the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) that they have inked with ATI. The activity was also an opportunity to collect, collate and update status reports by using forms prescribed by the ATI Central Office.
"As a Learning Site (LS) and as our partner, you need to know that your role is to help us in capacitating other stakeholders in agriculture especially your fellow farmers". We want you to share your technologies to fellow farmers and act as their big brother when necessary. Learning should be continuous. That is why in your end, if you feel you need more trainings, we at ATI are there for you.Also, let this gathering be an avenue for the exchange of ideas. The Learning Sites (LS) are excellent source of farming knowledge and one of the modalities to share knowledge and farming technologies", OIC-Assistant Center Director Noemi Beth Lasmarias-Gomez Macario stressed in her Welcome/Opening Message.
Administrative Officer IV Efren C. Macario presented the "Guidelines for New Release of LSA/SPA Assistance" while stressing to the participants to "Disseminate technologies for inclusive growth, you as our LS partners are our small ATIs in the localities".
An introductory presentation of the Digital Farmers Program (DFP) was also delivered to the participants. DFP is in close coordination and partnership with Smart Communications Inc. to bring together, the farmers who possess wisdom and knowledge in farming and the youth who are tech savvy. The program hopes to encourage the youth into agriculture while the farmers to use ICT gadgets for information gathering and even marketing. OIC-Assistant Center Director Macario did the quick run through of what DFP is about.
The first batch of LS and SPA owners and participants of the assessment were from Bukidnon which transpired on July 24, 2019 while the second batch hailed from the provinces of Misamis Oriental, Misamis Occidental, Lanao del Norte and Camiguin on the day after.
