RAFEN Reps Agree to Collaborate for 2 Projects during 2nd Quarterly Meeting

El Salvador City, MISAMIS ORIENTAL – RAFEN representatives agree to undertake two collaborative projects for to start this second semester of 2019. The group came up with one project for the uplands and one for the lowlands, both to be implemented in the province of Misamis Oriental. The group decided to assist an IP community in the highlands of Cagayan de Oro and in the lowland rice area in Lagonglong, Misamis Oriental. The group agreed to conduct a Ground Truthing on July 23, 2019 at Malasag, Cagayan de Oro City. On the other hand, Dr. Gonzaga of USTP Claveria was requested to make initial ground truthing in Lagonglong.
The agreement came up during the second quarter Regional Agriculture and Fisheries Extension Network (RAFEN) Meeting on June 27, 2019. It was attended by 7 government agencies, 2 ESPs of ATI-RTC X and 2 State Universities, to wit: BAI-NABC, NFA, SPAL-CDO, PHILFIDA, RAFC X, DA-RFO X and TESDA, Semilya sa Kinabuhi and Landcare Foundation of the Philippines, Inc.; and USTP Claveria and CMU.
Also, Mr. Josef Rad Ilogon from TESDA promised to assist trainees of RAFEN member agencies in the assessment for National Competency. He also committed to send to ATI the list of Learning Sites and their graduates who have passed the National competency Assessment for recognition.
Harmonization of the activities of the different agencies provide for a more effective delivery of services because as an old quote goes, “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.”
