Two batches of National Extension Agenda and Programs(NEAP) for 2022-2028 Development Workshop and Consultation kicked off in Bukidnon in June 8-9, 2021 with a total of 36 participants/representatives from the different government agencies. The consultation and development workshop aims to gather bases for determining priorities of the government for public investments and address the gaps by implementing appropriate interventions nationwide. The participants, in a sectoral Agri-fishery value group workshop presented their summative gaps, proposed interventions and information respectively. These output shall be proposed to the national agencies concerned to better deliver quality service in the next five years.
Two sessions were conducted for the province of Bukidnon. The First day was actively participated by the representatives from Central Mindanao University who also is into extension services together with the Provincial and City Agriculture Offices (PAO & CAO), Provincial and City Veterinary Offices (PVET & CVet), selected Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) representing the different municipal class in Bukidnon. Other national agencies such as Bureau of Soils and Water Management (BSWM), PhilRice, NBCRDC, PCA and selected learning sites were also represented. While the second day was participated by selected learning site operators and School for Practical Agriculture (SPA) operators, Magsasakang Siyentista, RIC, and 4H members.
Among the gaps identified during the consultations were the limited agri-business knowledge of farm families ,fast changing policies due to politics and priorities, lack of monitoring and evaluation on services delivered, farmers and fisherfolk are not conscious about farm planning and farm budgeting, weak linkage between LGUs and SUCs, and lack of competence of some hired personnel in the LGUs.
This National Extension Agenda and Programs(NEAP) for 2022-2028 Development Workshop and Consultation was headed by the very own section Chief Mr. Philip D.
