CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY─ “Click, edit and render” were just few of the terms the AgriDoc graduates of 2017 learned during the training “Agree to Agri: A Refresher Course for AgRiDOC Training Graduates with Basic Video Production Skill” conducted by the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center –X.
The training is part of the strategy of the Center to continuously capacitate these new breed of rice extensionists to better respond to the current trend in agriculture, specifically amidst a more complex and competitive rice production environment. There were 30 participants in the training composed of the 26 AgriDoc graduates and some rice focal persons of Municipal Agriculture Office coming from, Misamis Oriental, Bukidnon, Misamis Occidental, and Lanao del Norte.
The training focused on the video production process which includes skills on script writing, and on story board making to editing and packaging introducing Adobe Premiere. They have done several
workshops that require participants to submit a script, and story board before packaging the videos. Further, an individual video output was the major requirement of the participants.
As post training ouput, the participants must document and package into video the best practices of their on-going individual AgriDoc Projects.
To date, there are 26 graduates from Region 10 under the program titled Enabling the AgRiDOC: A New Breed of Rice Extensionists. Its graduates are called AgRiDOC or agricultural development and extension officers of the community. AgRiDOCs are expected to be catalysts of farm community transformation.
The training was conducted at De Luxe Hotel, Cogon, Cagayan de Oro City on May 7-11, 2018.
