More seeds and seedlings distributed in support to DA’s “Plant, Plant, Plant Program”

Poblacion, El Salvador--- The Department of Agriculture’s “Plant, Plant, Plant Program” or “Ahon Lahat, Pagkaing Sapat (ALPAS) Laban sa Covid-19” continues to benefit farmers, fishers and consumers in the city as well as in the countryside.

Agriculture Secretary William Dar intended the said program to be implemented not only in Luzon, where the enhance community quarantine is being enforced, but also in Visayas and Mindanao.

Just recently, the center handed over trays of vegetable seedlings and 150 copies of IEC materials on Natural Farming Technology System (NFTS) to Mr. Julieto A. Macabodbod of Sambulawan Barangay Council, Laguindingan, Misamis Oriental headed by OIC-Center Director Maria Lydia A. Echavez in support to the Plant Plant Plant Program of the Department of Agriculture. The seedlings will be distributed then to the eight puroks of the said barangay for the development of their existing communal gardens.

The giving of free seeds and seedlings to patrons aim to increase the country’s food adequacy level during the emergency situation resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic.
