El Salvador City, Mis. Or. MARCH 28, 2018. - ATI-RTC X conducts Fire Safety Lecture and Drill in cooperation with the El Salvador City Bureau of Fire Protection office. The activity is intended to promote the importance of fire safety and prevention and to enhance knowledge among the ATI employees regarding fire safety and fire deterrence. March is considered as the Fire Prevention Month.
In her message, OIC Center Director Maria Lydia A. Echavez encouraged the staff to take the opportunity to learn “so we will really understand why we are doing this (lecture and drill)”. She further pointed out that “Today is the last working day of March, the Fire Prevention Month. Huli man at magaling, nakakahabol din".
Fire Officer I Herman R. Fabre, Chief of Fire Safety Enforcement Section, one of the Resource Persons explained, that conducting lectures about fire safety is important, not only for people to know how to respond in cases of fire and other calamities, but also for people to understand the things that firemen do during fire incidents.
A Fire Drill was conducted together with extinguishing a fire under the ABC category. In his Closing Message, Mr. Efren Macario, Administrative Officer IV cited that this is just the 1st of a Series of trainings and activities to ensure that the staff are well prepared to deal with any untoward incident or calamities.
The activity is in line with Disaster preparedness for ATI staff and is an activity under its Climate Change Program.
